Training Academy
Our Training Academy designs programmes, procures specialist trainers and delivers courses to staff, clients and stakeholders.
Employees undertake extended induction programmes through our Academy. Enforcement Agents complete an 18 week, classroom and role based programme. Induction includes key legislative areas, codes of practice, our customer service ethos and personal skills modules required to excel in their role.
In partnership with Staffordshire University, we provide a bespoke ‘Level 3’ course and qualification. Awarded through the QAA National Higher Education Framework, our training significantly exceeds TCE 2007 requirements.
Client Training
We make no charge for client training including design and delivery of bespoke modules tailored to each Council’s requirements. We have delivered training sessions for clients across the Country including such modules as:
- Legislation & Codes of Practice
- Enforcement procedures
- Vulnerability identification & management
- Local taxation masterclasses
- Debt negotiation
- Customer service
- Persistent evader strategies
- Enhanced recovery techniques
- Maximising the benefits of data
In the past 12 months, 100% of delegates ‘agreed’ or ‘strongly agreed’ that our training will be useful in their role, and 100% of delegates would “recommend the course to a colleague or other Authority” which demonstrates the effectiveness of our training programmes.
Through our partnership with Staffordshire University, we not only provide training, we also provide Council staff with formal qualifications via the QAA National Framework.
Our training increases the skills of Recovery Teams. Management feedback also highlights an uplift in morale and motivation due to the qualifications achieved by their staff.
3rd Sector Training
We provide training and engagement sessions to CABs and 3rd sector organisations countrywide, including such modules as:
- Working practices
- Legislation & compliance
- Vulnerability identification & management
- Partnership working
- Q&A/feedback workshops
Following training with a Yorkshire CAB, complaints from this channel reduced significantly. CAB Advisors understood the legality and fairness of our approach, worked with us to resolve enquiries without formal complaints and could discuss TCOG more effectively.
